Does Makandal Center accept walk-in patients?
No. All admissions are referral-based and coordinated in advance.
What types of patients are appropriate for medical respite care?
Patients who are medically cleared for discharge but not safe to recover on the streets or in shelter settings and require short-term stabilization.
Do you accept patients who require ongoing medical services such as wound care or IV antibiotics?
Patients requiring services such as wound care, IV antibiotics, or other ongoing treatments may be accepted when medically stable and appropriate home health services are coordinated prior to admission.
What level of medical care is provided?
Care includes RN-led clinical oversight, medication support, and coordination with outpatient providers. We do not provide inpatient or skilled nursing care.
How long do patients typically stay?
Length of stay varies based on medical need and recovery progress but is intended to be short-term.
Does Makandal Center accept patients with behavioral health conditions?
Yes, when patients are medically and psychiatrically stable and able to safely participate in care.
How quickly will we hear back after submitting a referral?
Our team aims to respond the same business day whenever possible and will follow up within 24 hours of referral submission.
